Nordic Energy’s primary and continuing policy is to conduct activities in a manner that will protect the health and safety of our employees and third parties. As responsible community members we believe that accidents and incidents can be prevented, and that good management can ensure that risks are calculated, occupational illnesses avoided, all accidental losses minimized and precluded the impact to the human caused by our activities.

Environmental Policy

Nordic Energy FZC management is committed to protecting human health and natural resources, promoting environmental stewardship, and implementing innovative environmental technologies and practices. Through management leadership, employee participation, and professional environmental support, Nordic is committed to:

  • Identify any risk of pollution arising from any of our activities, products and/or services, which shall then be either eliminated or effectively controlled to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements relating to the environment.
  • Continually improving Nordic’s environmental performance through procedures established in the Nordic Environmental Management System (EMS);
  • Developing environmental management plans with objectives and targets to minimize adverse  environmental impacts and measure our progress toward these goals;
  • Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and other contractual requirements;
  • Providing all Nordic staff with the knowledge and tools needed to prevent negative environmental impacts; 
  • Implementing effective pollution prevention and waste minimization programs to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials;
  • Ensuring that energy and water are used responsibly and conserved through innovative practices and procedures;
  • Responding to all incidents immediately to minimize any environmental impacts.
  • Provide a workplace free of recognized hazards and maintain healthy working conditions for all company employees.
  • Ensure that any persons working on our behalf are made aware of and agree to comply with this policy.

We are committed to ensuring that we plan and perform our business activities to ensure that the risks of adverse effects on the environment are avoided or kept as low as reasonably practicable.

Nordic’s Training Program

Nordic’s reputation for excellence in training has allowed the company to create and retain an extremely experienced and versatile workforce. As an industry leader, Nordic's management team recognizes the value of experience in the field. So we arrange comprehensive training program that combines classroom training and field experience under strict supervision, to continually produce highly skilled professional operators. The philosophy of Nordic is that our operators achieve a high level of competency and have proven field skills. In conjunction, formal accredited class training is supplied including, as applicable but not limited to:

  • Well Control
  • Well Servicing Blow-Out Prevention
  • H2S Training
  • Fall Arrest
  • Confined Space Entry
  • First Aid
  • Off Road Driving

Nordic’s believes in “life-long” training related to our industry and also provides specialized workshops on an ongoing basis on the latest topics related to the industry such as:

  • Hydraulics Trouble-shooting and Pneumatic Design
  • Packer Fundamentals
  • Wireline
  • Diesel Engine Basics

 

Personnel Safety Program

The backbone of Nordic’s good safety record is the firm belief that safety is an “attitude” carried through to every aspect of the job. Nordic’s intensive safety program consists of:

  • New Employee Orientation
  • Intermediate Employee Training and Certification
  • Advanced Employee Training
  • Tailgate safety meetings in the field and shop on a daily basis
  • Formal weekly safety meetings, and job site inspections are conducted and documented by Supervisor level employees.
  • Annual Safety Audits using the Partnerships Audit
  • Annual review of the Safety Program to respond to changes in technology, government legislation and hazards identified by staff or in the industry
  • Hazard Identification Reporting System - a way for employees to give feedback on equipment safety for design modifications
  • Well Control

In addition, Nordic maintains a comprehensive Policy and Procedures Manual – an active document that outlines all formal safety policies and job specific procedures. As snubbing technology expands, the need for additions to the manual is constant. Every employee contributes so that future employees can benefit from past experience. Anyone within Nordic can contribute to improving or upgrade the policies and procedures manual, and it is evaluated every year.

Nordic considers Safety training a “life-long learning” process and continually develops specialized workshops to keep up to date on safety topics related to our industry.

Quality Assurance

Our primary objective is to ensure that all services provided for or on behalf of Nordic safely fulfill their stated contractual requirements and are provided at the agreed time, every time.

Nordic’s Quality Assurance System is developed as part of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS) and is based in ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System), OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and API Specification Q1 (Specification for Quality Programs for the Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industry). The Quality Manual is the guiding document for quality issues and gives all employees necessary information about their roles and responsibilities.

The Quality Assurance System assures that all personnel execute their work in a systematic manner. The sequence of how activities should be carried out and by whom is described in procedures, instructions, routines and guidelines.

The overall structure and documentation of the system is as follows:

  • Level 1: Nordic’s Management Manual/IMS (including Policies & Objectives for Quality and HSE) which is outlined to standard’s clauses, this includes Operation Manual.
  • Level 2: Nordic’s Procedures; describing the operation and controls of Company activities affecting quality of our products and services.
  • Level 3: Nordic’s Work Instruction and Process Map; describing specific and sequence of task to be carried out (Job Description, Process Flow Chart, etc..)
  • Level 4: Nordic’s Forms and Records; used to produced written evidence of activities or operational information performed based on Company Integrated Management System.

Please note that all documentation within the Company Integrated Management System available through the intranet are “Read Only”, to ensure only authorized personnel can make changes to the documents.

The Quality Manual can be made available for clients as documentation of our quality assurance system.

Equipment Safety Program

All Nordic equipment undergoes a rigorous inspection and certification schedule. The results are documented at a frequency level that often exceeds governing body regulations. Our equipment is constantly maintained and improved based on feedback from our team to ensure the safest equipment possible.
